Mandala Monday – How to paint rock mandalas #4- Christmas design by Kristin Uhrig

Today’s tutorial, How to paint rock mandalas #4- Christmas design by Kristin Uhrig, shows you all the tools needed for rock painting (which can also be used on other surfaces), plus a step by step guide to creating a Christmas design mandala. Here is what Kristin Uhrig has to say about this tutorial:

“See four inexpensive painting tools that you can purchase at your local grocery/department store, or online. Then, I will show you step by step how to paint a beautiful holiday mandala with them!”

Here is what Kristin says about her mandala making:

“I have been on a journey to learn a new painting technique to relieve the stress brought on through a medical crisis with my husband’s cancer. A camping trip resulted in a fine collection of smooth flat, round stones. They were the inspiration for learning to create dot mandala designs on rocks, and then late on canvas panels. I began making tutorials to share this adventure with others, so they could learn from my mistakes as well as my successes. My hopes that others will be encouraged to try something new, and creat beautiful lasting pieces of art that will bring them joy. Mandala Monday – Montage of Elspeth McLean Dot Painting

Today’s video, Montage of Elspeth McLean Dot Painting, was created by Elspeth herself. Here is what she says about the video:

“For this video I made a montage of all my instagram 15 second videos. They are short and sweet and give unique and varied insights into my painting and technique. Videos are in real time and have not been sped up or slowed down.

I felt that this video needed something fun and funky to go along with it so hubby, some friends and I made this little song.

Adam Dobres- Guitar, bass, ukulele, strum stick, cajon, water drop, finger snaps, tamborine. Paisley Love Rose- Words and Vocals, finger snaps
Elspeth McLean- bird noises, hand whistle, backup vocals, bells, australian clap stick and rattle, sitar, otter noise.
Lulu Love Rose- bells, finger snaps, back up vocals, rain stick.
Taz the cat- meows.

You may remember Elspeth from my posts on painting mandalas on stones: Mandala Stones: How to Paint Mandalas on Stones and Mandala Stones: How to Paint Mandalas on Stones Part 3.

Enjoy this beautiful montage!

Mandala Monday – Mandala Stones: How to Paint Mandalas on Stones Part 3

Painting mandala stones has been the topic of 2 other posts (https://nwcreations.com/mandala-monday-mandala-stones-paint-mandalas-stones/ and https://nwcreations.com/mandala-monday-mandala-stones-how-to-paint-mandalas-on-stones-part-2/). They have been so popular that I’m creating a Mandala Stones: How to Paint Mandalas on Stones Part 3.

Behind the scenes with Elspeth McLean-
the process and journey of creating Mandala Stones

Here is what Elspeth McLean says about this video: “I am so happy you have found your way to this little film. After images of my Mandala Stones went viral in 2015 I wanted to find a way to share the true story of the these treasures and my process of creating them.”

“With the help of my friend Blair from SoulFam Productions on film and pretty background music by my husband Adam Dobres join me on this little adventure.”

“We created this film in my first ever studio. For the last 10 years I’ve been painting in little spaces set aside in lounge rooms, my bedroom and even once in the kitchen. Although we moved from this house not after this film was made I am so happy to share this sacred space that was and will always be so special to me.”

“For more of my artwork and links to all my social media-

I also have a FAQ on my website that goes into detail about my technique and other helpful information. “

Enjoy painting stones!
