Today’s tutorial is A Mandala (And Drawing Mindsets) by Peter Draws. While watching Peter drawing a beautiful mandala we hear him talk about the mindsets behind drawing in general. By both example and through his talk we receive valuable information about both the process of drawing and mandalas.

Today we have Mandalas from the Heart of Freedom, Part 2, a new set of mandalas published March 2017. You can find Part 1 at https://nwcreations.com/mandalas-from-the-heart-of-freedom-part-1/. These mandalas were created during 2016 and finalized in early 2017. See Part 1 for more information. I hope you enjoy this new energy as well as a quote from Rumi.
*************************************************
One day your heart will take you to your lover. One day your soul will carry you to the Beloved. Don’t get lost in your pain, know that one day your pain will become your cure.
Freedom is the theme and name that this new set of mandalas have given me as their name. Throughout 2016 I created mandala after mandala. Periodically I would go through them and see which ones wanted to stay in a collection permanently and discard the others. I never know what I am going to create when I sit down to do one, and while they always seem to want to be published as a set, I never know what the name or theme is until they are all done. In early 2017 I began the final work of printing each image to see which would work well in print (what looks good on a computer screen doesn’t always translate to print) and see which images really wanted to be out in the world as a set.
There are now 30 images, whose name, Mandalas from the Heart of Freedom, popped into my head as I was finalizing them. You can see them all on my gallery page, https://nwcreations.com/galleries/mandalas/, or just view and savor a few as I release them on this blog over the coming weeks.
I hope you find inspiration and joy in interacting with them.
