Since the post I created about painting mandalas on stones, Mandala Stones: How to Paint Mandalas on Stones, is so popular, I decided to return to YouTube and search for more videos on the topic. I’ve found three more and hope they will give you more inspiration for painting your own mandalas on rocks and stones. Enjoy!
According to TED.com: “Using animation, projections and her own moving shadow, Miwa Matreyek performs a gorgeous, meditative piece about inner and outer discovery. Take a quiet 10 minutes and dive in. With music from Anna Oxygen, Mirah, Caroline Lufkin and Mileece.”
“Miwa Matreyek’s work blurs the line between real and unreal. In live works that integrate animation, performance, and video installation, she explores how animation changes when it is combined with body and space (and vice versa). In her video projects, animation takes on a more physical and present quality, while body and space take on a more fantastical quality.”
Enjoy this delightful presentation!
For those of you not familiar with TED Talks here is a brief summery from www.ted.com: “TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences — the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford UK each summer — TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and Open TV Project, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize”
I’ve found a very creative use for you old CDs: turn them in to mandala ornaments and sun catchers. This step by step video by Maria Amora leads you through this unique and creative way to recycle by creating Mandalas from CDs.
